The binding is transfer of photons afaik at present. = Even
sound is ultimately transmitted via photons. Electrons transmit
photons. They "eat them" and "spit them out". I think of
basketball players (electrons) moving slowly passing basketballs
quickly (photons) Electrons afaik ACTUALLY don't move very
quickly at all. It's the photons they pass that do. == Sound is
still pretty amazing to me. Waves blow my mind far more than
particles do - how it all works together like that. Love it. ==
Skipping the photon stuff for a second, I was thinking of the
functioning of a computer and semiconductors and information.
The speed of electrons is about that of maple syrup or molasses.
Electricity works more like sound. It's waves of stuff that's
already there. It's why I hate the terminology different places
use - and I REALLY hate the way they teach "electricity" in
schools. Takes years to unravel, if at all, once they teach it
wrong. == Yes, exactly. It's funny... even though I *know*
intuitively how it works now, I _still_ get those ancient school
lessons getting in the way. It's annoying :) ==
