Back in the late 1980s/early 1990s, I played around a LOT with
"Fractint", changing the formulas around and seeing what they
would do. It was an MS-DOS program and up through Windows95 it
was one of my favorite programs to play around with, see what
happened when I changed things around, and I'd show it off to
people, explaining not only that infinity goes on potentially
forever in a "number line" way, but more interestingly, that
things can be infinitely folded in on themselves the deeper they
go in fascinating PATTERNS.... and that Reality itself can very
easily be "cracked" with a dimensional depth that we can't
possibly fathom the bottom of. Someone would say, "But maybe
there's no bottom!" with wide eyes. I'd reply, "Maybe there is!
But it could be so deep, we might never be able to find it." ==
I also enjoyed talking about holograms.. how the tiniest piece
contains the whole image and use fractals to show how that
works. I always would get a "WOAH... DUDE!" in response.
