For me, I was btwn 11-14. Early 1980s. My grandmother was into
  Edgar Cayce, the American prophet who started a lot of the
  modern atlantis mythology and such. [he also was kinda right on
  global warming too - who knows, maybe he started it in the
  consciousness? I dunno] Anyway, Theosophy, which broke into New
  Age and Science Fiction later on. My book was "Chariots of the
  Gods". A little paperback I read cover to cover, through and
  through. Then by the age of 14 or so, I was like, "eh, it was
  fun but I'm done". 10 years later, X-Files came out and I was
  like, "OMG NOT AGAIN!" and that was the early 90s. I couldn't
  even WATCH the show 'til it was almost finished, and FINALLY I
  allowed myself to watch it. Until then though, I was like, "I
  can't believe ppl are still into this". Now we're in 2015. Not
  much has changed smile emoticon
