I've simplified through the years to focusing on keeping more or
less valid protein levels without excessive carbs, I have
healthy fat whenever I have the bad fat (blood vessels), and I
occasionally take zinc and magnesium because they're low in
availability in most diets. I know I'm eating steroid-filled,
corn fed, banned beef whenever I have a steak (USA) but it
doesn't stop me. I eat salad as much as I can (for magnesium
from the chlorophyll) and because I like them and try to eat
foods nearby each other that seem to help each other (vitamin c
somewhere around the time I have protein to help activate Krebs
Cycle for rebuilding of collegen, etc) But i guess I see "parts
as parts", chemistry-wise. so I eat wahtever as long as I'm more
or less balanced by the end of the day. But if you have the
ability to go with a diet that fits your ethical stance, go for
  it. like emoticon
