It's hard when you have a good idea and somebody else gets the
  credit for a similar one. I've had that happen although not
  professionally and it can be painful when it happens. I read
  your paper. While I don't "do the math", I can read the English
  just fine and the 'gist' of the concepts make sense as written
  out to me. It seems to me, at first glance (Mind you, I spend 2
  minutes skimming a paper that likely took you a very long time
  to do, so I apologize for any easy mistakes here) that you're
  doing some borrowing of Time in order to perform "better than
  simultaneous" operations. In that way, it beats parallel and
  makes speed of operations irrelevant because you cannot simply
  "add" "how long did this operation take?" + "how long did that
  operation take"? = total operation time in your model. If this
  is the 'gist' of what you've done, then I definitely approve
