I had some of that as a kid. I'm 43. I had biofeedback training
to control anxiety at 11 years old in 1983. I got to control a
computer with my mind. Major ego boost. I've gone through much
mental training through the years for clarity of thought and
I've barely just begun. I only started peeking into Philosophy a
year ago to see what I was missing all of these years. Granted,
  I discovered this: I wasn't missing a lot. Yet, I was. One
example: Law of excluded middle. What significant impact has the
law of excluded middle had upon Western Civilization? What are
the benefits and what are the drawbacks of it? If you don't
know, you don't know the difference between classical computers
and the future of quantum computers. Perhaps philosophy is
better suited to be studied as a branch within History, shifted
over. I could go with that I suppose but it does serve a
  function.
