Ah, and the marvelous Michael Romeo of Symphony X does a
translation of the 3rd movement on guitar. Whether or not you
like or dislike heavy metal style music, as someone in the top
100 guitarists in the world (he's #91 last ranking - only
because I checked), plus his passion for classical music
translated into a form that
ears-that-would-never-listen-to-classical-otherwise will hear,
he deserves kudos. Nobody's ever captured the full version I
hear in my head when I'm playing this movement - or ANYTHING on
the piano - and I'm not nearly patient enough to piece it
together myself.on the computer but having heard this, he
captures a piece of it. Then again, when I hear music in my
head, there's a planet blowing up somewhere, or a gluon is
created in a dramatic collision and decays into a top and
antitop ... or, on rare occasions, the cesium atoms have reached
an Efimov state and the balance and the ever increasing shells
expanding outwards into macroscopic reality are just... well..
it's a phenomenal feeling. Anyway, he captures a little bit of
it with his guitar as well.
