Loved the Hobbit. Read only 1/2 of the first Lord of the Rings.
  Never read the rest of it or the other two. Absorbed the rest of
  the story over time and exposure, mostly to friends who were
  fans. Love the story, lacked the patience to read it. I got the
  movies on my "someday" list. Saw the 1st. Not the 2nd or 3rd.
  Not the Hobbit movie either. But I will one day. I think maybe
  it's 'cause I saw a cartoon of it as a kid, LONG before I saw
  the book. They had ugly cartoon hobbits. So I probably already
  knew the story before I knew it... if that makes sense.
