I've actually drawn up several religions for the purpose. One of
my favorites is a scientific religion. All the songs would be
based on accepted scientific things - physical phenomenon, the
elements, forces, a particular animal, etc. There'd be a science
experiment every week on stage and discussions afterwards about
various topics. Set up similarly to church services. The
intention is a respect for the world-as-it-is as far as we know,
a gratitude. Not pantheism just gratefulness. Then all of the
marvelous social benefits that come with the communities formed
around church structures would come with it. I've had others as
well, centered around various different things but generally
would be excuses for people to gather in community. I, too, am
concerned about the lack of community for men. I don't know if
women have it easier honestly but I know men have few social
outlets like this. Bars? Sports? Not a whole lot of options.
