I hear what you're saying yet I have to disagree that we only
  need one idea that everyone will adopt. I don't think that's
  possible. Look at us. Two, now three people discussing something
  in a comment on a post I made. We're all slightly agreeing and
  slightly disagreeing with each other. The distinctions between
  ideologies is often very fine grained as much as there are
  vastly different ones. But the fine-grained distinctions can
  become amplified in lieu of large differences and the ideology
  wars will continue. In each of the ideologies there's generally
  one similar notion: "If only everybody would agree with us, the
  world would be better". I see that very outlook as an issue, a
  causal point. I try to see alternatives to diplomacy and
  civility as answers but it's hard for me to find any that seem
  to work better than that. Yet, that's my ideology. I'm doing the
  very same thing.
