"But the longer the chain of inference, and the less trust you
have in the theories used for inference, the less real objects
become. In this layered reality the multiverse is currently at
the outer fringes. It*s as unreal as something can be without
being plain fantasy. For some practitioners who greatly trust
their theories, the multiverse might appear almost as real as
the universe we observe. But for most of us these theories are
wild speculations and consequently we have little trust in this
inference." Yes, this excellent, gentle answer to the question.
I enjoyed the read, giving due respect to the hard work being
done by the marvelous theoretical physicists in the field who
are fans and teachers of the very popular multiverse and your
finishing conclusion was marvelous. "It's as unreal as something
can be without being plan fantasy". The entire article gives
respect while putting it into the proper place along with a
gentle reminder about the danger of placing trust in one's own
theories but you did so in as non-judgemental a manner as I've
  seen.
