Stories are what's left over when the memories are forgotten.
  Cultural narratives seem to echo backwards through time. Are new
  narratives written that can't be compared to the past? I don't
  know. I hope so. If they're strong enough, they'll echo towards
  the future in new stories but I don't think any of the
  established narratives will ever die off just keep transforming.
