Oh the hymnal doesn't exist. It would be written from scratch
but reflecting science topics. Totally new religion. Anyway, as
far as current religious up-to-date hymnals, there was a case
back in the 80s (when I was a kid at the methodist church) where
some of the church ladies, who considered themselves
progressive, decided to update the hymnals with inclusive
language, so they went and rubber cemented more politically
correct lyrics in all of them. Anyway, that lasted about a year
'cause it was awkwardly worded. But another 5 yrs later, that
denomination wholesale updated all the hymnals for more
inclusive lyrics and such but more professionally written. So,
in the end, they _were_ more progressive. And forward. And a
pain in the ass. But it was an easy church to be a kid in. No
hell or judgement stuff. Just "be good, do good" pretty much.
