I ran a Minecraft server for 2 yrs (2012-2014) and in about one
  hour or so, the Aussie and NZ kiddies would come home from
  school and get on the server and yeah, the language DEFINITELY
  changed. I let them talk the way they wanted (I just checked in
  once in a while to see if there was bullying going on,
  otherwise, I just kept the server window shut and let them talk
  about whatever; I ran it like it was their server and had enough
  admins that I didn't have to worry about much) That is... until
  it was summer vacation for Americans and they were up all night.
  (aussie afternoon) WELL... it wasn't very long before the
  complaints came rolling in about the language... and I had to
  put a profanity filter on. I personally didn't care WHAT ppl
  said as long as nobody was being bullied or excessively gross or
  overly perverted. But when the American players encountered the
  Aussie players... yeah. Total culture shock. So, I had my nephew
  help me come up with a list of substitute curses that he thought
  would be funny. They hated the censorship but it qualified as
  bullying at that point, so I had to respect that.
