Thank you for sharing that. I suppose had I grown up with that,
it's likely I'd be upset too. I remember reading these magazines
that would show up here and there... I don't remember what it
was called, but they were these fantastical tales about
End-Of-The-World scenarios with doomsday quotes, revelations,
2nd coming in this big dramatic way... how we have to be
prepared for the oncoming storm and be lifted up bodily to
heaven... ..and I'd read them. They weren't from my childhood
church (tame methodist) but they were like reading science
fiction to me. I never thought anybody really believed the stuff
- I figured it was just entertainment value. But as an adult, I
learned that yes, indeed, people believe it. And it still
surprises me.
