First I want to say a giant Thank You. I've been waiting for
someone to point this out. Now, I want you to notice something:
What have been doing in this very thread? I posted a thought
that would be controversial. I knew it would bring people out of
the woodwork to talk about it. It did. Why did I do that? I was
looking for conflict. Then, to work on resolving the conflict.
You're a part of this. A part of my battle. A part of what I'm
passionate about. Right here. Right now. This. I'm not fighting
some far off ideal in some far off Utopian future. I'm fighting
for TODAY, for Right Now. I'm fighting for intelligent people to
be reasonable and to speak one-on-one with people. Individually.
Peacefully. Rationally. Yet, not without passion either. You're
doing this now. You're addressing ME. _THIS_ is what I've been
seeking. Mano a mano. Person-to-person. Looking beyond the veil
of "this ideology vs that ideology". But rather, looking across
the Internet and seeing a human there and trying to understand
THEM. What motivates them. What drives them. Where it's good.
What could be improved. Working together to improve the species,
one at a time.
