I don't have a problem with nuclear power. The danger is so huge
  that the regulations are very very strict and accidents are
  rare. No one will forget they're running a nuclear reactor.
  Can't forget Chernobyl. Ultimate solution? No. But is viable and
  current. Waste is compact and potentially removable from the
  planet. Now, I don't know if it's comparable, but I remember
  reading about an Italian nuclear testing facility from the
  1950s. What did they do when they were done with it? They put
  dirt over it, planted trees and made it a public park. It
  worked. Not to say it's comparable because it's probably not and
  I haven't done my research. I just found it interesting. == I
  was raised in NJ - Roselle Park smile emoticon I worked for
  JCP&L for a year or so as a temp and my job was putting
  engineering drawings into Autocad... even though I didn't know
  autocad. Way underpaid. Anyway, that was like '94. But one of
  the plans I got to put into autocad was a nuclear power plant in
  Forked River, NJ that I guess they never built. It was _very
  cool_ seeing the faded white on crumbling blue paper and not
  really understanding what I was looking at. Spent most of my
  time goofing off though.
