Some consideration: Stories are generally taught to children and
adults are reminded of those stories. Morality tales are useful
things at any era of human history because life sucks and you
gotta deal with it and move on. At one time, people were taught
to say, "It's God's problem - not mine". Now we say, "That's
just how it is". Basic moral hasn't changed: Do what you can and
what you can't, you don't. Then you get on with your life.
