Yeah,being somebody's practice canvas is tricky [that's why I
said uncle 'cause there's always an uncle out there with a
tattoo kit in the basement or whatever tongue emoticon ] I was
someone's test subject once. I helped a friend build a homemade
tattoo gun out of a motor and needle. He tried it on himself,
then on me. On my ankle. It hurt. It was micro-tiny but it
worked. Then on his own (once he 'got' the mechanics of it) he
decided to take apart an electric shaver and use the motor to
make a tattoo gun by himself. It worked but... too powerful.
Took him a few weeks to heal the skin gauging but it worked. The
ink stayed. After a while, he saved up and got a kit. Through
the years, he got good, got jobs at various tattooo parlors and
stuff. I don't have any tattoo now. It faded within a few months
but it was cool helping somebody start their journey. But if I
wanted a regular tattoo, yeah, I'd make sure the guy/girl has
done at least a FEW dozen tattoos first.
