Dawkins has an interesting take on it, although I personally
  believe that Dawkins is simply codifying his cultural value
  system into our genes themselves. In short, he's playing
  psychologist utilizing a very neo-Darwinian (not even so much
  evolutionary) idea. Fascinating perspective but I don't believe
  it's correct. Game theory has its own take on this which is
  somewhat similar and perhaps Dawkins borrowed from that. I
  haven't read his books, so I'm just inferring.
