True - and most people who taught history in school tried to
  keep it that way. Always hated the "Timeline" in which nothing
  really important seemed to happen but stuff I had to memorize.
  Thankfully as a lifelong fan of Doctor Who, I was able to enjoy
  time travel and history from traveling perspective which made up
  for the dry fact memorizations and mythologicalization of
  history that school teaching brought.
