There's some study somewhere about rats in confined spaces, food
hoarding and biting each other's heads off after a while. Of
course it's rats not people, but a good relateable story that
  fits sometimes. -- I can tolerate a lot. It's a thing I learned
mostly as a kid. But then, there's that line and I don't like
when that line is crossed because I'm like the Incredible Hulk
or Popeye at that point. [two childhood heroes] Whole countries
can behave like people as well. A good metaphor for countries
can be bully and victim behaviors. For example, somebody who
considers themselves a victim will sometimes strike back at the
bully for their behavior. Seems reasonable. But then a victim
who starts to get a sense of power and gathers others suddenly
goes on the offensive and BECOMES a bully, and the bully becomes
the victim. Of course real life isn't as black and white as
that, but it's a useful analogy when applied properly.
