I see all of life as a giant slime mold that's existed for a few
  billions years, and we're a marvelous part of it - and
  everything we create become part of its biology, including the
  Internet.
  I like my viewpoint here because it ALSO encompasses things that
  appear invisible to us, like communication, talking, thinking,
  typing, etc and moves us away from the 'we're just brains in
  meatbags" view we're taught.
