I'm always looking towards the future. If I ran for public
  office, my motto would be something like: Don't fuck up the
  future. To me, this doesn't NECESSARILY mean any particular
  save-the-planet mission. Rather, it's things like education.
  Clear thinking. [not just "critical thinking" but CLEAR
  thinking]. Not emotionless - because that is biologically not
  possible for us. Emotions proceed reason within the cognitive
  systems. Skepticism requires even being skeptical about
  skepticism itself and allowing for one's self to not be
  skeptical about some things. It's not even a balancing act per
  se, but more like coping skills.
