It's one of those scripts we all inherit and roleplay at some
point.
But when a relationship matures and one or the other gets tired
of the script, that's when apologies are ineffective because by
that point, theoretically, the "something stupid" could have
been eliminated in the first place by either side and when it
doesn't... and the script is invalid (as are the flowers /
chocolates / apologies / etc), it's usually counseling time. The
counselor gives them new scripts to read from. Depending on how
much they believe the counselor and the new scripts, it may
prove successful or unsuccessful.
Best relationships have no scripts smile emoticon ... which...
is probably a script
too...[1]11377345_805355526252864_7396687733178713408_n
