Yeah, I tend to agree with you Stacy. I think the "no need for
  big bang" thing is more a political move supported by
  mathematics rather than something tangible and provable.
  But... I'm open to it. Growing up, I heard about Big Bang, Big
  Crunch, oscillating Universe, and Steady State was like this
  toilet paper stuck to the shoe of theoretical physics.
