Declaring God to be real is a part of some religions.

Being compelled to declare God is not real as part of a public
school assignment infringes upon religious freedoms guaranteed
  by the 1st Amendment.

I don't know what's mainstream or not, honestly. Most of my
friends are atheist or agnostic or they belong to mainstream
religions or some esoteric ones but each with primarily
  humanitarian values and nothing dramatic.

I "hear about" these believers but I almost never see an
evidence of them, except on TV. 30 years in NJ and 13 years in
Florida, and I rarely encountered a real Bible thumper. Maybe
  three times.

Yet, I believe they exist because media tells me so tongue

When I used to see televangelists on TV, I thought the whole
audience was in on the joke and it was provided for my
entertainment. I'm still skeptical a little, although I'm sure
there's believers out there. smile emoticon
