Definitely; it also uses its own compression algorithms based
upon appropriate metaphors for linking together similar (but not
same) concepts. I think it's how we make sense of meaning and
are able to fit our understanding of the Universe in such a tiny
nervous system.   I use "computer metaphors" for the brain so
much I have to remind myself that it's ALSO a fat glob full of
squirting biochemicals flooding systems and being swished left
and right every 1/2 a second by a sinus pulse of water, like an
  engine parts cleaner.

Keeps me from getting all "singularity" and stuff tongue
emoticon --- My first computer. Ran a special version of
"Microsoft Color BASIC". Hooked up to my TV. Used it every day
'til '89, when I got my first PC (Tandy 1000 TL - 286) and got a
modem, and got online at 300 bps. I've been talking to random
interesting people from around the world ever since smile
emoticon ---   The library in the 001 section had stuff like
this: BUTTLOADS of BASIC programming books. Spy games, rocket
games, typing games, role playing games, build-your-own robot,
make your own artificial intelligence.... it was heaven.

I look at the library now and I saw ONE BOOK on "Python
Programming for Kids". Well written but that's all they had.

Then again.. we got youtube now. MUCH better now. Plus there's
ways to hack your favorite games, kids teaching each other JAVA
to make their own Minecraft mods. My nephew figured out how to
hack Cubeworld to insert his own characters and give him
advantage in fighting. So, things are far better today.

plus you have the Arduino, "maker culture". it's pretty awesome.
There will probably be a glut of computer scientists as the
general knowledge increases tremendously in the population as
GenZ grows up. Can't wait to see what they produce by the time
I'm an old man smile emoticon
