The trouble, I think, that we run into a lot often comes down to
category errors. We put hard lines between concepts that aren't
really hard lines once you zoom in close enough. For example,
separating reason from emotion is a useful sorting task. This
appears like reason, so it is reason. This appears like emotion,
so it is emotion. But then you reach a level where the line
disappears or gets murky or flip flops.
Yes, and there's other creative ways of describing reason and
emotion and intelligence and thought that can distinguish the
nuances even further. Emotional reasoning. Emotional Logic.
Reasonable emotions. Logical feelings. It's because they are, in
a sense, talking about the same thing; the stuff of our
consciousness.
