To be honest, certain words like "faith" or "grace" never made
  any sense to me, even when I was going to church.

  So for me, faith was a synonym for trust, as the words were used
  interchangeably, and grace.. .well, that word still means
  nothing to me.

  So it could be a semantic error on my part.

  I don't think modern physics requires faith/trust. The
  correspondence level is very strong, although I always try to
  make clear the distinction from the Map and the Territory.

  It's when it goes into the esoteric that we end up with things
  like parallel universes, string theory and such.

  It's not that they might not be wrong, it's just these areas
  seem more in the realm of religious faith rather than science.
