I'd say he's in the "too smart for his own good" category. It's
not just religion. In fact, I'd dare say it might have much to
do with religion at all.
Perhaps he suffers from something I've seen Mensa ppl fall into:
Conspiracy beliefs.
It takes a lot of connections to make the more obscure parts of
it work - and work completely logically and rationally at that.
Add politics on top of it, and you have a dangerous mental
weapon.
If you're the smartest guy in your clan (and it's likely he's
one of the smartest guys for the right), people will fall over
you n adoration when you open your mouth.
So that could be another factor: Maybe he's the one eyed man.
