Yup that's his site. I don't know how much/how little I believe
of it now, but at one time, he had my full attention for a few
years. If nothing else, it helps with a mental grasp of nearly
impossible things that's workable for our pedestrian purposes.
[we're not building multibillion dollar machines... and really,
it's just nice to have SOME kind of grasp on the subject that's
reasonable]. Yeah. String theory itself is itself running a
bit dry these days, after a decade of intense research. Some
theoretical physicists want to break away and allow for
mathematics-alone-without-evidence to be 'enough' to consider
theoretical physics a Science... but if they do that.. it won't
really be a science anymore but more akin to a philosophy of
some kind.
Funding has been drying up for string theory and they had a good
ride with it. But if nothing else, they inspire many with tales
of mathematical parallel universes and hidden curled up
dimensions. Bedtime stories but nice ones. And who knows? Maybe
they're onto something.
