The one you've been using. The story handed down about the
innateness of the scientific method, part of the natural
processes of animals, which began to crystalize in its current
form when humans began to develop linguistic systems, allowing
them to pass on knowledge from one generation to the next,
eventually developing writing systems which allowed knowledge to
pass on cross multiple generations, and we developed history.
With history, we no longer had to repeat the errors of the past
and progressed an inevitable progression into an evolved human
state of intellect, except for a period of darkness between the
Ancient Greeks and the Renaissance, culminated in the Age of
Reason, the dissolution of the religious dominance over society
and the technicological triumphs of the 20th century.
