For example, Bill, the Science community can sometimes have a
propensity for fads.* There's a flourish of activity around one
central notion and many scientific studies are done around a
particular fad. Then it passes.* While in the middle of the fad,
truths seem absolute that are borne out of the enquiry.* Yet,
once the fad has passed; perhaps the morals of the surrounding
culture has changed, perhaps some decent falsification has come
to light, then its passed. But there's a lack of critical
thinking while in the midsts of the fad or rather, incomplete
critical thinking. Of course critical thinking isn't the "be all
  and end all" either.
