My mother has kind of a new age reincarnation belief system,
mixed with Karma and a twinge of possible heaven and some kind
of reward for people that were nasty so they get theirs. She
calls them "brownie points". yeah, like Girl Scouts.
But she goes the to the church she does because the music is
decent (the pastor is head of a rock band and they perform every
sunday, even thought it's not TRADITIONALLY a Methodist thing),
and his sermons are usually funny. Plus she gets to see the same
people and chit chat a little while they shake hands.
But is she a "believer"? Well, sorta. But nothing that they have
written down in a book somewhere. She believes her own beliefs
and goes for the show.
