I agree; I wonder sometimes if it's some secret shame almost
because few ever talk about it. I rarely talk about it so
frankly honestly. I wonder why? Maybe old fears of getting
mocked? Someone might think I'm dumb, on drugs, crazy, all
because I see things they don't.

Then again, hearing your thoughts in your head is STILL
considered crazy, which is the dumbest thing in the world.
EVERYBODY hears voices in their head - it's called thinking...
and there are different voices sometimes, not always your own.
  it's only a problem when they're overwhelming.

Known as "normal unless overhwelming" by psychology forever,
it's still stigmatized among the general population.

That's the only linkup I can think of; social stigma. yet it's
socially acceptable to share awesome photos, videos, a new
theory by some guy, etc. Yet not socially acceptable to say,
"Yeah, you know that moment when you can experience the entire
Universe all at once, just for a moment and how awesome that
  feels?"

Yeah, that's not something we're allowed to say. Stupid really,
because I don't think we're alone; we're just brave enough to
mention it right now smile emoticon
