To me they've become somewhat of a Mythological absurd beast
  that only shows up on TV news stories like Kim Davis, Mike
  Huckabee and talked about in great length in atheist forums.

  But have *I* ever seen one of these strange creatures? Perhaps
  once in real life. Even the ones I'd see online were hard to
  take seriously; they struck me as trolls.

  Perhaps I don't believe in fundie Christians. I mean, there's
  EVIDENCE for their existence... but mostly hearsay. Maybe they
  exist somewhere.
