Neither math nor feelings nor reason. They're an output of our
cognitive processes and shared belief systems with which we use
to help interpret the reality we find ourselves in.

Some of it is quite pragmatic. Mathematics is pragmatic for what
it's used for. Logic is pragmatic for many of its purposes, but
it's not the universal hammer for all things.

Feelings are a part of the same humans that devised these same
systems as is our reasoning and mathematical capabilities.

Mathematics at its root, is the cognitive ability to instantly
  categorize 1 2 3 - up to 4 - utilizing our facility of
  numerosity.

Anything beyond that utilizes our semantic systems - ie - words.
And mathematics as a semantic language is equally flexible as
are words, although in different ways.
