I'm in complete agreement over the reason for the lack of
atrocities committed by anti-theists who are also activists.
[activists for the cause of elimination of competition, which is
  other religions/belief systems].

Religions had thousands of years to develop.

Even atheism (the anti-theist atheism not the kind you espouse
which I'm cool with) in its modern form is... well, a very
modern thing and is generally an offshoot of Christian
protestantism and shares many of its traits. It's understandable
it wants to distance itself from other groups but I don't like
  the way they do it.

There's been no atrocities because anti-theist's haven't been in
  power.

Well, they HAVE.. but for some reason, people who are
anti-theist DON'T count Soviet Russia and the number of deaths
  there.

  Or China.

Somehow, they don't count. They should though, logically.

But even still, it's because a group was in political power; and
there WAS no time where anti-theism was really "in charge" prior
to modern times. [by modern, I consider anything post 1700s to
  be modern].

Anyway, I also notice the sleeping bear thing. An anti-theist
who sits safely behind their computer is more than happy to
cause trouble in other parts of the world that won't affect them
  personally.

Then they can say, "Look! See how bad they were! Told you
religion was wicked!" - like you said, self-fulfilling prophecy.

Like the Charlie affair. Yes, I agree with freedom of press
generally speaking, but it shouldn't be surprising that in a
billion-strong population of Muslims, that 12 of them might
  decide to shut them up.

And.. they kinda deserved to be shut up... just not in that way
  of course.

They WANTED something to happen; I have a quote somewhere where
they guy who headed it dared them to. "I'd rather die standing
than living on my knees" or some bullshit like that.

Well, it was as if 12 people said, "Oh, ok!" bomb bomb bomb.
