We're an oligarchy. What I believe only matters in smaller
  issues at voting time. Presidential election is meaningless to
  me.

  We're not at WWII nor do I see a repeat of it, at least for the
  USA. We're FAR too big and inefficient of a country to ever
  manage fascism.
