  1988 300bps modem was my gateway to the world. BBS's, PC-Link,
  then Internet, Usenet and BITNET in 1990-91, back to BBS' for
  years and I even ran a Waffle BBS for a few years JUST to get my
  own Usenet feed and my own email address.

  The day broadband came for me, was the best day. I hated when
  people got mad that I tied up the phone line, and I had to do
  most of my messaging to people via offline messaging packets.
