Indeed. Ultimately irreplaceable. I wouldn't deny new movies
  from being made because the original has died, but yes, it would
  take an extraordinary feat to surpass Nimoy as Spock. It's
  _possible_; there are times that replacement characters are
  superior to excellent originals in movies/shows, but it's
  extremely rare.
