Still locked into Win7 here. Hodgepodge of tools allowing me to
  accomplish whatever I want my computer to do, some newer, some
  older. I suppose if I analyze the process chains I use, I could
  slide over to a nice Linux distribution. I'd even upgrade to
  Win10 'cept I read something about requiring being online.. and
  they automatically encrypt your hard drive. After my mother's
  computer got hit with Cryptolocker, and seeing the bad-side of
  encryption... I don't know if I want my data to be
  auto-encrypted. It's mine.
