the Greeks did it before as well. The University system,
  starting around medieval times, was a revival of what was then
  1000 year old (now 2000 year old) ideas.

  I don't know if the Ancient Greeks did it the same we've done it
  for almost 1000 years with Universities... but I know it's an
  attempt to recreate it.
