Fundamental flaw of ALL COMPUTERS is not making the stuff the
USER CREATES more important than the operating of its own
system.
In short, WHY THE F do we still have a SAVE button?
Every letter you type should be automatically saved and
retrievable. It's _not_ that hard. I type in this box here on
FB. If I accidentally go out of this page, it's gone.
Poof.
Why is leaving the page more important than the words I type?
Why did the people that wrote the program that you're depending
on to save your words expect the program to work properly all of
the time? Or the computer? or the electricity?
No excuses in 2015 for computers + programs to behave this way
anymore. It's a deep pet peeve of mine. I copy/paste everything
I write elsewhere as I write it. I hate losing a single letter I
write. I've lost much and it's painful. I feel your pain. More
rant:
Why ONE COPY?
If you make changes, overwrite your copy and change your mind
and want it back, IT'S GONE.
one copy?
really?
We have to CHOOSE to save a new copy under a new name?
So stupid. They had this shit figured out decades ago on
mainframes. On the VAX/VMS I worked on, files AUTOMATICALLY had
a ;1 ;2 ;3 ;4 for versions.
So, MYDOCUMENT.TXT;1 MYDOCUMENT.TXT;2 MYDOCUMENT.TXT;3 would
automatically be created. There was no 'overwriting'.
ugh. Yeah, still pisses me off that we HAVE to think of this
stuff. Computer should do it for us.
