All we've ever done is "objectivity as considered by humans".
That's what sucks about being the ONLY species to communicate
with. Computers are modelled after a limited understanding of
our own brains. Our mathematical systems are tailor-made to fit
our tendancies towards pattern-finding - patterns which we
cognitively REQUIRE to be able to compress "what's out there" in
a format compatible with our cognitive systems. Pisses me off
sometimes. The compression thing. Why can't we experience the
uniqueness of stuff? Computers won't solve it. Designed by
humans. AI won't solve it: built using the cognitive limitations
of humans, which it will automatically carry forward withitself,
no matter how advanced it may appear to us. Nothing humans
theoretically couldn't manage. Boring. Want more. But we seem to
be the ONLY species around, so... we're stuck. How it is I
  guess. Still don't like it.
