Quite true. A good analogy is data. People talk about the
  importance of data. Or algorithms. Or computers. But they do
  nothing. They're tools with the potential to do stuff, but they
  don't do stuff themselves. People make them go. They're not
  autonomous. Neither is money, even if it seems to be.

  Same is true for society. Or... is it?

  Society is a concept. Persistent one. Seems to affect us as
  individuals.

  But are we individuals?

  Babies born in isolation die without social contact.

  We're social to the core. Proof? What are you doing right now?
  Being social here on Facebook.

  So societies _are_ real... but perhaps the societies that are
  real are not the ones we call societies...
