Yup. People want to make a buck as fast as they can. But it all
  comes to the initial algorithms programmed in. When AI first
  played the stocks, I believe it was in '07 or 08 that there was
  a very-bad-day that was caused by that very thing happening. It
  was fine when only a few mutual fund owners were doing it. But
  then when a bunch did it? Algorithms competing against
  algorithms? It was a MESS.

  But they've gotten better now. The thing is, the whole economic
  system is a fiction anyway. No silver to back any of it up. Just
  games with numbers that people believe. Exchanges of Trust
  between humans. [I will give you these goods by exchanging these
  numbers with you. "Ok"]. All a nice fiction.

  What's really real is people, skills, stuff, cooperation (or
  lack) and coordination (or lack). That's it. All these toys are
  toys. Fun though. I like my Internet.
