I think of it this way: Right now, we produce this thing we call
  "WASTE". It seems to be some kind of problem and right now it
  probably is.

  But, we'll figure out how to make good use of it. Example:
  Plasma incinerators that split up junk into its constituent
  elements. The tech already exists for it. Elements go into their
  gaseous form (at least the gassy ones) and sucked up tubes and
  collected.

  More stuff like that, we'll be able to recycle anything, even
  ourselves.
