Very true. Perhaps there needs to be more specific words for the
  *type* of artificial intelligence being discussed. Gardener's
  original list seems to have grown to about 9 - although there's
  a lot of pop-psych mixed in which makes it difficult to prune
  away the crud leaving the good stuff.

  Logical thinking is one of many. I have no doubt that computers
  can exceed us in purely logical thinking. But if it can't laugh
  at a joke? Meh. It's a computer.

  It may replace a lot of scientists though. That's probably what
  ppl like Hawking are afraid of.
